Leaving Home Devotional Guide
Monday: Read Genesis 12:1. Reflect on God’s call to Abram to leave his homeland. What does it mean to leave behind familiar comforts for an unknown future? Just as Abram was called, we too are invited to step out of our comfort zones. Consider areas in your life where God might be asking you to move.
Tuesday: Read Genesis 12:2-3. God promises to make Abram a great nation and bless him. Reflect on the nature of God’s blessings and what it means to be a blessing to others. The blessings we receive from God are not just for our benefit, but to share with others. How can you be a conduit of God’s blessings today?
Wednesday: Read Genesis 12:4. Abram obeys God without hesitation. Consider the importance of obedience in your own faith journey. Faith often requires action. Reflect on a time you acted in faith, even when the outcome was uncertain. Write down a recent experience where you stepped out in faith and what you learned from it.
Thursday: Read Genesis 12:7-8. Abram builds altars to the Lord, marking significant moments of worship. Reflect on the importance of remembering God’s faithfulness. Altars represent moments of connection with God. What are your “altars” where you remember God’s presence in your life?
Friday: Read Genesis 12:8. Abram journeys with faith, moving through the land. Reflect on the journey of faith—it’s not just about the destination but the growth along the way. Each step of faith leads to spiritual growth. How has your journey shaped your understanding of God?
Prayer: Eternal God, thank you for the example of Abram and his faithfulness in following your call. Help us to hear your voice and respond with courage. May we be blessings to those around us, and may our journeys reflect your grace and guidance. Strengthen our faith as we step into the unknown, trusting in your promises. Amen.
