Ready or Not? Devotional Guide

Rev. Dr. Charley Reeb   -

Weekly Passage: Luke 12:35-40

Monday: What does it mean for you to “be dressed ready for service”? Are there specific areas in your life where you need to become more prepared spiritually? How can you ensure that your “lamp” remains lit in your daily life?

Tuesday: In what ways can you cultivate a sense of vigilance in your relationship with God? What distractions in your life may hinder your readiness, and how can you address them?

Wednesday: How do you interpret the idea of Christ serving those who are ready? How does this shape your understanding of servanthood in your life? In what practical ways can you serve others this week, reflecting Christ’s love and readiness?

Thursday: How does the uncertainty of Christ’s return challenge or motivate you in your daily life? How does the idea of encountering Christ through service opportunities today motivate you? Think of a time when an event took you by surprise. How does that experience relate to your readiness for spiritual matters?

Friday: Who can you talk to about your desire to be more spiritually prepared? How can you encourage one another? How can your community of faith support each other in staying vigilant and ready for Christ’s return and for the unexpected opportunities to serve Christ today?
