Happy Birthday, Church! Devotional Guide
Weekly Passage: Acts 2:1-21
Monday: How would you describe the experience of the apostles as they were filled with the Holy Spirit? What emotions or thoughts might they have had during this transformative moment? In verses 5-11, we see a diverse group of people hearing the gospel in their own languages. What does this tell us about the nature of God’s message and its accessibility to all people?
Tuesday: The crowd’s reactions varied from amazement to skepticism (verses 12-13). Why do you think some were amazed while others dismissed the event? How does this reflect the different ways people respond to spiritual experiences today?
Wednesday: Peter references the prophet Joel (verses 16-21). What does this prophecy reveal about the role of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers? How does it challenge or encourage your understanding of spiritual gifts today?
Thursday: How can the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the apostles inspire you in your daily life? In what ways do you feel called to be a witness for Christ in your community?
Friday: Verse 21 emphasizes the importance of calling on the name of the Lord for salvation. What does this mean for you personally, and how can you share this message of hope with others?
Prayer: Eternal God, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit and the empowerment to share your love with the world. Help us to be bold witnesses of your wonders and to embrace the diversity of your creation. May we call upon your name in all circumstances and share the good news with those around us. Amen.
