Connections is a respite program and memory ministry that supports individuals and their families living with memory challenges by providing opportunities for self-expression and connecting friends, family and faith.

We are excited to offer Connections Respite Days during the holidays as an extension of our Connections ministry. These days provide an opportunity for family members to have time to shop or rest in preparation for the holidays while their loved one enjoys time with friends in a safe and stimulating environment. Connection Respite Days are scheduled for December 12, 16 and 19 from 9:30am-1:30pm in Room C-201B in the C Building (at the corner of Vistabula Street and Lake Morton Drive, click here for a campus map). Prior participation in the Connections Memory Ministry is not required for Connections Respite Days. The fee is $30 per respite day (the average cost for respite care in our area is $18 per hour – Connections Respite Days cost $7.50 per hour). Participants will need to bring a sack lunch.

To ensure the safety of all participants, prior to registering for Connections Respite Days an in-person assessment is required. Submit the form below or contact Vicky Pitner (vpitner@firstumc.org or 863- 686-3163) to schedule an assessment.
