Ever Thought About Joining the Choir?  To Sing or Not to Sing?

This is the question to which visitors and regular members of First United Methodist Church alike often find themselves answering,  Yes!   And, why not.   Membership in the Chancel Choir is open to anyone who enjoys singing (so all of you shower virtuosos take heart).  Of course, those who choose to give their gift of song are encouraged to attend regular Thursday night rehearsals and Sunday performances, but their gifts of time and effort are their greatest reward.  What’s the old saying… “the whole of something is greater than the sum of its parts?”  At First UMC, people of all ages and levels of musical ability come together every Sunday to sing and are uplifted as much as the congregation.  So, come join a choir family that keeps growing and changing.  It’s ease, really.  Here’s how…….

All you have to do is come to a practice on Thursday night from 7:00 to 8:00PM.  Someone will greet you and ask you to sign in on our attendance form.  You’ll be given a new folder of music and shown which section to sit in.

You don’t have to be a great singer.  We have lots of folks who have learned to read music after joining the choir.  It’s never too late to start having fun making a joyful noise.

We’d love to have you come and check us out.  You’ll be glad you did.
