Rwanda Information:
Time zone:
Rwanda Time Zone is GMT+2 which is 7 hours ahead of EST in the
US. Sunrise will be about 6:00 am and sunset about 6:15 pm.
Temperatures
The sun shines nearly all year round, and, whatever the season,
the mean daily temperature is close to 24 C (76F).
The minimum night temperatures is around
10C (50F) and maximum daytime temperatures ranges about 34C (94F).
Seasons
The climate of Rwanda is made up of two wet seasons and two dry seasons.
The short wet season lasts from October-November, and the main rainy
season, lasting from mid-March to the end of May. During the
dry seasons, which
last from December to mid-March and from June to the end of August,
frequent light cloud cover yields a pleasant, never stifling,
temperature.
Across Africa,
children are raising children
due to the HIV/AIDS pandemic and genocide.
ZOE Ministry
is Giving Hope
-
Help
for African children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS
pandemic and genocide through
medical care,
food relief, education, and clothing programs.
-
Ongoing
love and support through ZOE Ministry programs and
partnerships that bring orphans in Zimbabwe, Zambia,
Kenya, and Rwanda back into their communities.
-
Prayer
Ministry, emotional healing, and the good news of
Christ’s love extended through faith communities in
Africa and the United States.
-
Empowerment
for children living in desperate poverty through ZOE
Ministry’s
Giving Hope Empowerment Project providing
mentoring, vocational training, income-generating
activities to foster financial independence,
training in animal husbandry and farming, and
HIV/AIDS education and awareness.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord;
plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give
you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
ZOE’s
Story

ZOE Ministry began
in 2004 when
Rev. Greg Jenks answered Christ’s call to reach out
to the least of these through the witness of a 15 year
old girl who had traveled to Africa to work with
children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
With
the support of the
North Carolina United Methodist Conference, Greg
left the parish ministry to launch ZOE Ministry from his
home in Clayton, NC. Today, thousands of people have
helped meet the needs of orphans and vulnerable children
in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, and Rwanda through the work
of ZOE Ministry.
