Registration opens for pre-Annual Conference classes on
"Living the United Methodist Way"

We are so fortunate to live in Lakeland! The Annual Conference is holding
free workshops right here at the Lakeland Center. There will be outstanding speakers, including Alex Shanks and Jim Harnish.

These classes are designed for both laity and clergy to learn more about
the five essential practices Christ calls every congregation to be involved in
to fulfill their mission of "making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation
of the world." The classes are offered free of charge to all who wish to attend.

NEW SERMON SERIES BEGINS SUNDAY, May 25
Revelation: God's Word to God's People
For our next sermon series, we are turning to the Book of Revelation,
specifically chapters 2 & 3, the seven letters to the churches. This is an
often overlooked portion of the Book of Revelation, but has such relevant
meaning for our lives today. Join us each Sunday from May 25 through
July 6 as we delve into the Book of Revelation.

MEET OUR NEW PASTOR
On July 1, 2008, the Rev. Anna Jackson will be joining
us as our third appointed pastor. She will be joining
Rev. David McEntire and Rev. June Edwards rounding out
our appointed pastoral staff. Anna is currently associate pastor at Killearn UMC in Tallahassee. She and her
husband, Rev. Jack Jackson and their 7 year old twins - Sophie & Toby, will be moving to Lakeland in June.
We are excited about the gifts and graces that Anna
